A lot of important work still runs on a workbook emailed around once a quarter, or on someone re-keying the same figures across four documents by hand. It holds up until it doesn’t: no audit trail, no access control, no way to scale, and mistakes nobody catches. Off-the-shelf software won’t bend to your process, and standing up an in-house dev team is out of proportion to the problem.
What I build
- Secure web portals. Customers, members, or staff sign in and do real work — submit data, upload documents, track status, see results.
- Data intake and validation. Uploads are parsed, validated, and rejected with clear errors before bad data ever lands. No more chasing files by email.
- Business logic in code. Your rules, definitions, and calculations implemented once, with automated tests and parity checks, so results are reproducible and auditable year over year.
- Document workflows. Messy inputs in; polished, house-standard deliverables out — with conflicts and exceptions surfaced for review instead of buried.
- Dashboards and reporting. Each user sees their own performance, current and trended, on any device.
- Authentication and role-based access. Passwordless sign-in or your existing company sign-on, users scoped to their own organization, admin tooling gated separately — enforced by an isolation test suite.
- Admin console. Status at a glance, data review, and publishing control for whoever owns the process.
How it’s built
- Your cloud, your keys. Deployed into your own Azure subscription — or AWS or GCP — under your billing and your control, by a single repeatable script. Your data never touches my infrastructure. I hand over the keys, not a dependency.
- AI reads, code decides. Where AI helps, it extracts and summarizes. All math, totals, and document generation are deterministic code. The model never writes your deliverables and can’t fabricate a number.
- Conflicts flagged, never guessed. When two sources disagree, the output states which value was used and why, and raises a finding — the same discipline every time.
- Test-backed and CI-gated from day one. A full test suite and continuous integration ship with the code, because these systems live or die on whether people trust the numbers.
- Built against your gold standard. Where a best-in-class output already exists, I build to reproduce your best team member’s actual work product — and prove it, cell for cell.
- Your analyst layer preserved. Existing Power BI models keep working. The app serves your users; the BI model serves your staff.
How an engagement works
- Discovery. I sit with your team and learn the process as your best person does it today. Phase one is a paid discovery and working prototype that de-risks the data before anyone commits to a build.
- Fixed-scope phased build. Clear milestones with working software at each one, scoped up front. You get a live rehearsal environment on synthetic data to walk through and approve before a single real record moves.
- Deploy and prove. Live in your tenant, validated against your real accounts, your team trained to own it.
What that looks like in practice
A benchmarking program, off the spreadsheet
Industry groups and member networks typically collect benchmarking data by emailing a workbook once a year and returning a static PDF months later. As a platform, members upload their submission in-app and it’s validated on the spot; each member then signs in to see their own performance against peer benchmarks, current and trended. The group’s KPI definitions live in code with parity checks, so the numbers reproduce year over year.
Underwriting submissions, assembled in minutes
For a commercial trucking insurance agency, four messy inputs go in — application packet, driver MVRs, carrier loss runs, FMCSA safety data — and two agency-standard deliverables come out, plus a red/amber/green findings checklist. The value isn’t reformatting; it’s source-of-truth reconciliation. The system cross-checks every input against every other and surfaces conflicts a reviewer would need hours to find.
