About

Data should illuminate, not confuse.

I’m Andrew Boles — a consultant in Waco, Texas who builds analytics that complex organizations can actually understand, use, and sustain.

Background

My path to data consulting runs through physics, engineering, and business: a B.S. in Physics from Abilene Christian University, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from UT San Antonio, and an MBA from Baylor University. That combination means I’m comfortable in the data model, the systems architecture, and the boardroom — and I can translate between all three.

Today I wear three hats: Associate Director of Business Intelligence at Baylor University’s Career Center, founder and principal consultant of Boles Data Consulting, and adjunct instructor in Baylor’s Hankamer Online MBA, where I teach Communicating with Data.

What I work in

  • Power BI at depth — advanced DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling, Microsoft Fabric
  • Power Platform — Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio
  • AI agents in production — Copilot Studio plus Anthropic and OpenAI SDKs; deployed tools with real users, not demos
  • Python & Azure — automation, optimization, and integration work around the Microsoft stack

In the field

I chair the Data Analytics Knowledge Group for the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE) and regularly present at industry conferences on analytics and Power Platform implementation.

“Data should illuminate, not confuse. I build solutions that make complex information accessible and actionable for everyone.”
